The following training positions are to be filled by September 1st 2026:    3x rope maker (m/f/d)    •    2x machine and plant operator textile technology (m/f/d)    •    1x production mechanic (m/f/d)

Educational training for rope maker at LIROS

Qualification
Secondary school certificate or intermediate school certificate
Training period
Three years
Practical training
  • individual manually rope solutions
  • measuring of lengths
  • producing of fibre ropes
  • producing of fibre ropes from wire drawing to the finished cable
  • manufacturing of rope end connections on fibre- and steel wires
  • manufacturing of nets
Vocational school
Block release instruction in the state-of-the-art textile vocational school in Münchberg, 12 school week every calendar year, accommodation in a school boarding house of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt. Münchberg has a good infrastructure, indoor and outdoor pool, sports possibilities and bars.
 
Interenterprisal training
viz. relaying of educational contents, that cannot take place at LIROS, f.e. internship at a modern wire rope manufacturer
 
What do you learn as a rope maker?
The future rope makers get an overview over the entire production process of Seilerei and Flechterei, as well as knowledge imparted of the single production steps in handling with the appropriate machinery, the raw materials of fibre- and steel ropes and and their manufacture. Today the rope maker produces one the one hand with modern machinery ropes and finished goods, on the other hand he has to prove his manual skills. Special rope end connections like splices on cable car ropes for example are still manual work today.

  • chemical fibres (polyamide, polyester, polypropylene, etc.)
  • steel wire (interplant internship at Carl Stahl München)

The LIROS trainee program
